Local Lifestyle

Residents of Hobe Sound enjoy tranquil, tropical beauty in an area that's still under the radar to the hustle and bustle of busy hot spots nearby. This unique village is packed with beautiful parks and landmarks, fantastic locally-owned restaurants, and upscale boutiques. It's truly the best-kept secret on Florida's southern Atlantic coast.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Hobe Sound has a fantastic mix of locally-owned restaurants and shops along with some nationally known brands. Harry & the Natives is a favorite local eatery that's been in Hobe Sound for over 80 years. The restaurant serves down-home cooking in a fun atmosphere with live music six days a week. Try the Shrimp & Grits with a cocktail from Harry's Drink List.

Bigg Apple Pizza & Pasta is a family-owned restaurant that serves New York-style pizza, pasta, and subs from family recipes that have been passed down through the generations. For over 25 years, Bigg Apple Pizza has served the Village fan favorites like the Traditional Meat Lasagna and Mama Lino's Whole Pizza with a side of freshly made Garlic Knots.

Taste Casual Dining is a popular spot for a family meal, with a cozy atmosphere and great menu selections like grilled pork chops, chicken quesadilla, chicken bowtie pasta, and a kids’ menu for the little ones. For a more upscale atmosphere, The Grove serves an array of Italian dishes from linguini with clams to lobster ravioli. Plus, don’t miss the amazing dessert menu of tiramisu or cocoa and olive oil cake.

Two locally-owned boutiques, Posh Pineapple and Juno Shoe Girl Boutique, are sister stores that are nationally recognized for their high-quality products and upscale design. Juno Shoe Girl sells women's apparel, jewelry, handbags, unique gifts, and signature handmade shoes. The artists travel worldwide to purchase the best materials and stay on trend while designing their newest sandals. The shoes are made of high-quality imported leather and come with interchangeable jewelry ornaments. Spas and boutiques across the world carry Juno's shoes.

Posh Pineapple, Juno's sister store, contains equally unique and upscale items, including home decor and gifts in brands like MudPie, Thymes, and Spartina, among others.

Things to Do

The Hobe Sound Murals Project started in 2009 with an initiative to "paint the town." Started by professional artist Nadio Utto, this movement encouraged more than 40 regional artists and over 100 Hobe Sound residents to contribute murals throughout the village. Today, you can participate in a "treasure hunt" with help from a Mural Tour. Residents are encouraged to walk, bike, or drive around Hobe Sound to find them all.

Hobe Sound is home to some of the most beautiful spots to soak in the Florida sunshine. At Jonathan Dickinson State Park, residents can climb Hobe Mountain, an ancient sand dune that's 86 feet tall. At the top, Hobe Mountain Tower rises 27 feet, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean.

Bridge Road, known for its lovely tree canopy, will take you to Hobe Sound Beach, a guarded beach that's a perfect spot to spend an afternoon. For a more active excursion, outdoor enthusiasts are invited to visit Blowing Rocks Nature Preserve, where you can hike to see the largest Anastasia limestone rocks on the state's east coast. Here, you can swim or snorkel in the water while watching the waves crash against the large rocks, making the water "blow" into the air.

If adventure is the name of the game, head to Blueline Surf & Paddle Co. for a fun day of paddle boarding out on the water. Blueline offers exciting guided tours, kayaking lessons, eco-tours, races, and much more. You can also head to Sawfish Bay Park, where South Florida Paddle, LLC offers stand-up paddle boarding tours and lessons. Get out on the water, and hopefully, you’ll see some manatees! Get Up and Go Kayaking in Jupiter is another top-rated tour company where you can enjoy fantastic views as you spend time out on the waves.
